Ellie Hunter

CathCare's founder

CathCare was founded by Ellie Hunter, who brings both a corporate and entrepreneurial background, to solve a critical gap in patient care.

A former finance professional turned entrepreneur, Ellie developed the PortPouch®—a patented solution designed to enhance comfort and dignity for IV catheter patients during her own treatment journey.

ELLIE HUNTER, FOUNDER AND CEO

Ellie Hunter brings a dynamic background in finance, entrepreneurship, and patient advocacy to her role as Founder and CEO of CathCare. With early career experience at IBM, Goldman Sachs, and Schonfeld Securities, Ellie later launched a successful vegan and gluten-free food company that earned placement in 800 supermarkets and recognition with Ahold’s Woman-Owned Business Award.

After undergoing long-term IV antibiotic treatment for a rare tick-borne disease, Ellie identified a critical need for a more secure and comfortable solution for catheter patients. Drawing on her business acumen and firsthand patient experience, she invented and patented the PortPouch®—a medical device designed to improve comfort, reduce infection risk, and restore dignity for those receiving IV therapy.

With the support of co-founder Kerrie Burke, Ellie launched CathCare to bring this innovation to market. Today, she leads product development and clinical strategy, with a strong focus on improving care for vulnerable populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
